Into the Aragonian Pyrenees

With the stunning weather set to continue for at least another week, we decided to get some altitude to hopefully enjoy cooler temperatures. We’ve set up camp near Ainsa on the edge of the Ordesa National Park, about 50km south of the French border. This is also a fairly handy spot for Jim to reach on his 4 day flying visit, being about 2:30 hrs from Barcelona Airport.

We meet at Liguerre de Cinca, a pretty spot overlooking the village of the same name, high above a reservoir. The climbing is good rather than awesome, and doesn’t seem to get a great deal of traffic. More memorable than the climbing was being serenaded by a jazz band playing at a big do down in the village, and being buzzed by huge vultures!
