Another shady crag, and handily near the road, this is a new addition in the latest Rockfax. Notably less polished than Garrafa and much less busy – just us and 3 Spanish blokes. Some stiff grading though – after warning up on a stiff 6a Mariolo I managed to need a rest on a 6a+ Caletut 😦
Faced with a choice of heading home with my tail between my legs, I decided to up the stakes instead and made fairly short work of Talaiot Corcat, a top 50 6c taking a stunning crack / tufa line. Pride restored, I raised the stakes again and surprised myself by onsighting Voltor Negra a very sustained 3* 7a+ up some slightly friable rock. A great end to a day which hadn’t augered well! So good, in fact, that we forgot to take any photos. Here’s a very uninspiring shot of the 7a+
An early finish was required to allow a dash over to Soller to check into our villa. Just time for a quick beer by the pool before playing airport shuttle driver to fetch the kids.
